MPVEX Transfer Options

Transferring a call to another destination is an easy task with Metropark’s Voice Exchange.   We will discuss the three main ways to transfer a caller to another destination.

Blind Transfer

Transfer a call to another extension, group, or phone number without announcing the party being transferred.
  1. Press Transfer, during an active call. There will be a transfer button on phone and on screen. This will place the party on hold.
  2. Use the keypad to enter the number to which you want to transfer the call. This can be an extension or 10-digit number.
  3. If you have a ‘Speed Dial’ or ‘BLF’ key programmed, press the that button to transfer the call to the contact directly.
  4. Press ‘Transfer’ or ‘B Transfer” to complete the transfer

Attended Transfer

Transfer a call to an extension, group, or phone number with the opportunity to speak with the called party before transferring the call to them.
  1. Press Transfer during an active call. This will put the call on hold.
  2. Use the keypad to enter the number to which you want to transfer the call. This can be an extension or 10-digit number.
  3. You can also press Directory and choose a number from the Address Book or BLF or Speed Dial button.
  4. Press Dial/Send or Wait for few seconds. The Call is put on hold and the line gets opened to dial the number. Then do one of the following:
  • To complete the transfer without speaking to the receiving party, press Transfer after the call begins to ring.
  • If you misdial or realized that the call should not be transferred, press End Call and then press Resume, and try again.
  • To transfer after speaking privately, press Transfer at any time during the conversation.
  • You can restart the call if your dialing time takes too long. You can resume the call or can transfer it again.

Direct to Voicemail Transfer

Instead of transferring a caller to an extension which will cause the phone to ring multiple times or be sent to other coverage points, a caller can be transferred directly into the desired voicemail box.
While on an active call the button on the bottom left of the screen will turn into a transfer key.
Selecting this key will allow you to initiate the transfer. A bar will appear on the top of the screen that allows you to enter ** followed by the extension number of the voicemail you are sending.
If you have BLF keys on your phone, you can use these keys instead of inputting extension numbers.  You can also create a button the has the ** inputted.  Example  **101.
